We’ve had a fun and very busy Summer so far here at Tom Crean’s Premium Irish Lager, eating and drinking (responsibly) our way around Ireland and we’re looking forward to the rest of the long, hot summer. We’re also delighted to be pouring pints at the Big Grill food and beer festival in August, which promises to be a legendary weekend of eating, drinking, dancing and general merriment.
The May bank holiday weekend saw us keeping the festival go-ers at Feile Na Bealtaine here in Dingle re-freshed, we brought Crean’s to the foodie masses at Taste of Dublin in June and had the craic with Dingle foodies celebrating winning the Food Town of Ireland 2014 award, we had a busy week serving pints of our fresh lager to filmmakers and film enthusiasts during the Dingle International Film Festival and are really looking forward to the very cool Big Grill in August in Herbert Park, Dublin.
Taste of Dublin
We took the Crean’s road show up to Taste of Dublin for three sun filled days of eating, drinking and dancing in the leafy Victorian surroundings of the Iveagh gardens, a secret enough park in the heart of Dublin City. We rubbed shoulders with all the leading lights in Irish food and exciting next big things in gastro-culture and had great fun with the attendees who couldn’t get enough of the x kegs of Crean’s that we brought with us.
Food Town of Ireland Award 2014
The craic was had as great local food was washed down with Crean’s at the celebrations for Dingle being crowned the top foodie Town of Ireland. The award which recognised Dingle as the place that provides visitors with the best foodie experience in Ireland, was granted as part of the Irish Restaurant Awards on 9th of June. Up against such foodie havens as Westport, Kinsale and Howth, the win confirmed what we all have known for a long time down here in Dingle.
Féile Na Bealtaine- Music and Arts Festival
Little Green Cars, Lisa O’Neill were among the headline acts at the festival which also brought a wonderful weekend of Poetry & Literature, Art drama, dance and film and even a parade through the town to Dingle leaving all in attendance utterly entertained and invigorated.
Dingle International Film Festival
The cultural festivities started early for us when in March the 7th annual Dingle International Film Festival came to town.
Highlights included a Daniel Pearl master class who was responsible for the cinematography for the likes of ‘The Texas chainsaw Massacre’, and ‘Alien Vs Predator: Requim’
Film buffs we’re well watered in the many exceptional pubs dotted around Dingle town and we had many visitors up to our brewery.
The Big Grill- BBQ & Beer Festival
We are delighted to be included in the very cool looking Big Grill which will celebrate the art of BBQ’ing, grilling, smoking meats and delicacies from around the world and all washed down with the finest Irish beer brands handpicked by the festival organisers.
Happening in Herbert Park, Ballsbridge the festival runs from the 15th-17th August.
The Big Grill promises to leave attendees sated and merry as top chefs help fill your bellies and DJ’s and music acts will have you moving to soul, blues, brass, hip-Hop and Disco. Events include the Cú Chulainn BBQ Cook Off which will see over 20 participants fight fire with fire in an attempt to be crowned champ, chilli, hot wing and meat eating competitions.
We’ll be there, come say hello and discover Crean’s.
